We don’t get to see a ton of Ben Simmons’ personality. Perhaps that could be a reason why he isn’t universally loved among Sixers fans. But he did show that he could poke a little fun at himself in a recent commercial.
You won’t see it on American television. It’s a spot for Australian meat pie company Four'n Twenty, which sells its staple food item at Wells Fargo Center during Sixers home games.
It’s a singsong ad, selling meat pies as the perfect snack to enjoy while watching sports. The song references a few Australian athletic greats, including Melbourne native Simmons.

As the chorus sings, “When Ben Simmons makes a three …” Simmons is shown on a Jumbotron at a stadium flipping a shot over his head. It kicks off the wall, the bleachers, and through the hoop, as Simmons gives a confident nod. The chorus continues, “We give a big high five.”
The meat pie vendor’s reaction makes me laugh.
It’s nice to see Simmons in a loose moment, no?
