You have to give the Sixers one thing: the organization is always giving fans something to talk about.
The news Wednesday that the Sixers are in advanced talks to hire former Rockets general manager Daryl Morey led to widespread pandemonium across NBA and Philadelphia sports circles.
The man who created Sam Hinkie, and the man who created the Rockets' analytics revolution, is expected to land in Philadelphia.
Fireworks in all directions.
Sixers fans had resigned themselves to entering next year with largely the same power structure in place, not exactly an exciting thought considering the way the 2019-20 season went fully off the rails.
Instead, the organization is bringing in Morey, ideally to shake things up in a big way, and Sixers fans are PUMPED:
There's no guaranteeing that Morey will be able to fix the Sixers and get them back on track towards their former championship aspirations.
But after hiring Doc Rivers and now Morey, the fan buzz around this team is officially back.
