Sixers replace Frosty Freeze Out with ‘Bricken for Chicken'

CAMDEN, N.J. — The Frosty Freeze Out is history.

As part of their promotional schedule announcement Thursday before their home opener against the Bucks, the Sixers included “Bricken for Chicken, presented by Chick-fil-A.” That will take the place of the Wendy’s Frosty Freeze Out, a promotion that tied consecutive missed second-half free throws by Sixers opponents to free Frosty’s for fans, who often grew frenzied about the Freeze Out regardless of the game’s score.

According to the Sixers’ press release, fans can receive five Chick-fil-A nuggets after two straight missed second-half foul shots by an opponent. A second instance would escalate to an eight-nugget reward, a third to 12 nuggets.

Per the team’s release, the “Bricken for Chicken” promotion can be redeemed by “opening the Chick-fil-A App, after the game, in the Greater Philadelphia area until 10:30 a.m., the next business day. Once the offer is claimed, it can be redeemed by scanning the Chick-fil-A App or by placing a mobile order via the Chick-fil-A App, within three days of the qualifying game.”

On “Spirit of 76 Nights, presented by Crypto.com,” the Sixers will wear their City Edition uniforms. Those games are on the following dates:

  • Nov. 13, 7:30 p.m. vs. Jazz
  • Nov. 19, 7:30 p.m. vs. Timberwolves
  • Dec. 11, 6 p.m. vs. Hornets
  • Jan. 12, 7 p.m. vs. Thunder
  • Feb. 25, 8:30 p.m. vs. Celtics
  • March 12, 6 p.m. vs. Wizards
  • March 20, 7 p.m. vs. Bulls
  • April 6, 7:30 p.m. vs. Heat
