The Sixers on Thursday night came to terms on a contract with reigning G League MVP Trevelin Queen.
A source confirmed reports, including from The Daily Six’s Derek Bodner, of a two-year agreement with Queen that’s partially guaranteed in the first year. That Year 1 guarantee is for a little over $300,000, the source said.
Queen, 25, became an unrestricted free agent when the Rockets declined to issue him a qualifying offer. The undrafted, 6-foot-6 wing was on a two-way contract with Houston last season and appeared in 10 games for the Rockets. Houston has stocked up on first-round picks the last two years, taking five players total in Round 1 of the draft and also trading for Turkish big man Alperen Sengun.

Queen's path to professional basketball included a time he described himself as "homeless, kicked out, hungry" (via an interview with Bryan Kalbrosky) and a junior college stint.
In the G League regular season, Queen averaged 25.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 3.2 steals. He also won G League Finals MVP, scoring 44 points in Game 1 of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers’ best-of-three Finals series win over the Delaware Blue Coats.
The Sixers happen to have another former G League MVP on their roster in Paul Reed, the rebound-hungry 23-year-old who served as Joel Embiid’s primary backup last postseason.
