Chris Christie blasts Phillies, says they ‘suck', calls Citizens Bank Park ‘unsafe'

Since Chris Christie has not been given any sort of meaningful role in the Trump administration, he has plenty of time to talk about sports, namely Philadelphia sports.

This clearly isn't the first time the Cowboys fan has ripped on Philadelphia. You all likely remember when he said Eagles fans are the worst.

"They’re interested. But the hostility, I will tell you that I take for being a Cowboys fan — and this is what I say to Giants fans all the time, and Eagles fans. Now Eagles fans I can understand it from a little more because the Eagles do suck and they’ve sucked for a long time. And their fans are generally angry, awful people."

This time he attacked our baseball team.

Christie appeared on SNY TV on Wednesday night to talk about the New York Mets, another awful team he is a fan of. The topic of Philadelphia came up.

"The Phillies suck. Let's just start with that," Christie said. "They're from Philadelphia. They're an awful team. They're an angry, bitter fan base and it's not safe for civilized people to go to Citizens Bank Park if you want to root for the other team. Ya gotta believe what? Ya gotta believe we're awful people."

I believe he thought he was being clever.

It's one thing to have a friendly rivalry with your neighbors. It's another thing to simply be rude.

You can catch the video clip below.

UPDATE: The Phillies seemingly fired back with a subtle jab to the gut.
