'It’s Always Sunny' celebrity weighs in on the Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns throwdown

The fight between Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns will live in infamy in Philadelphia for years to come.

There was so much happening at once, yet it was the perfect embodiment of Philadelphia sports and the mentality that the true athletes here reflect.

Even the celebrities are weighing in.

Rob McElhenney, who plays Mac on the FX series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” made sure to let the city know he approved.

Here’s what he had to say on social media about Embiid going after Towns’ eye.

How fitting that social media dug up just the perfect quote from the show about this glorious city. There’s quite literally an “It’s Always Sunny” quote for everything.

It’s always um ... spirited ... in Philadelphia.

Bryce Harper and Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Rob McElhenney) strike up friendship

Updated: 9:17 p.m.

If you’re a fan of Chase Utley, “Always Sunny” or both, you know all about the Mac’s love affair with the former Phillies second baseman.

Back in 2013, Utley responded to Mac’s hilarious/heartwarmingly pathetic letter.

Last summer, they kicked it like a couple of bros.

And now Mac (Rob McElhenney) has made a new friend.

So cute.

He'd love to get another superstar in on the fun as well.

Chase Utley now has a crush on Mac from 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'

Longtime viewers of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are well aware of the (one-sided) bromance between Mac and Chase Utley.

Utley even went so far and attempted to break the internet back in 2013 by responding to Mac's love letter.

But today things have gone full circle. Now Utley has a mancrush on Mac, via Chase's own Instagram account.

As you can see, Fat Mac is no longer. There is only Jacked Mac now. Utley is clearly impressed.

Utley and Rob McElhenney have teamed up before to pump up Eagles fans for the Super Bowl.

Chase isn't the only athlete with Philly ties to get in on the Fat Mac content lately. Fat Mac was actually played by an "actor."
