Penn beats Yale to keep Ivy League Tournament hopes alive

AJ Brodeur scored 24 points as Penn defeated Yale 77-66 on Friday night. Antonio Woods added 22 points for the Quakers.

Devon Goodman had 14 points and six rebounds for Penn (18-11, 6-7 Ivy League). Jarrod Simmons added seven rebounds.

Alex Copeland had 19 points for the Bulldogs (19-7, 9-4). Blake Reynolds added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Miye Oni was held to 2 points despite entering the matchup as the Bulldogs' leading scorer at 18 points per game. He failed to make a shot from behind the arc (0 of 4).

The Quakers leveled the season series against the Bulldogs with the win. Yale defeated Penn 78-65 on Feb. 9. Penn finishes out the regular season against Brown at home on Saturday. Yale finishes out the regular season against Princeton on the road on Saturday.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Miye Oni had 21 points as Yale extended its home winning streak to eight games, defeating Penn 78-65 on Saturday night.

Alex Copeland had 15 points for Yale (15-4, 5-1 Ivy League). Blake Reynolds added 13 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Bruner had 12 points and seven rebounds for the hosts.

Devon Goodman had 16 points for the Quakers (14-8, 2-4). Antonio Woods added 16 points. AJ Brodeur had 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Yale plays Columbia on the road on Friday. Penn matches up against Dartmouth at home on Friday.

AJ Brodeur scored 25 points, on 10-of-13 shooting, and grabbed 10 rebounds and Pennsylvania never trailed in its 80-57 win over Yale on Saturday in the Ivy League Tournament.

The second-seeded Quakers will play No. 1 seed Harvard in the championship game on Sunday. Penn (23-8) split the regular-season series with the Crimson with each team winning on its home court.

Brodeur scored 11 points in the first 10 minutes and Penn used a 12-0 run to take a 15-point lead when Caleb Wood hit three free throws with 9:48 left in the first half. Yale missed eight consecutive field-goal attempts and went scoreless for 4 minutes during that stretch. Jackson Donahue's 3-pointer capped a 12-3 spurt that pushed the lead to 23 points late in the first half and the Bulldogs trailed by at least 18 the rest of the way.

Darnell Foreman had 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists and Max Rothschild also scored 11 for Penn.

Blake Reynolds and Paul Atkinson led third-seeded Yale (16-15) with 11 points apiece.

The Quakers shot 53 percent, made 15 of 16 free throws and outrebounded the Bulldogs 46-28.
