The sports gambling gates have officially opened in New Jersey.

Julius Erving on Thursday placed the first sports bet at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. The Sixers legend made what is sure to be a popular wager in and around the Delaware Valley: the Eagles to repeat as Super Bowl champions next season.

Although, Dr. J isn't showing too much confidence in the Eagles with that wager amount of $5.

Earlier in the morning,  New Jersey Gov. Philip D. Murphy made the first legal sports in the state at Monmouth Park. He showed a little more confidence in his wagers, placing $20 on Germany to win the World Cup again and another $20 on the Devils to capture the Stanley Cup next season.
