Terrell Owens buys custom gold jacket to replicate Hall of Fame prize

I've got little to no interest in relitigating whether or not Terrell Owens deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. It's been done. Reuben Frank made a particularly good case for T.O. right here, if that's what you're in the mood for.

The fact of the matter is Terrell Owens is not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But he 100% believes he should be. So he went out and did something about it.

Because these are the sorts of things Terrell Owens like to do.

T.O. went out and bought his very own gold jacket to replicate the actual gold jacket given to players when they're enshrined in the Hall. That's the story that the New York Daily News' Gary Myers is telling. And it's pretty fantastic.

One very well placed source - only clue: he is a HOF player - recently saw Owens in Los Angeles and reported to the Daily News that Owens had a shopping bag next to him when they got together.

What was in the bag?

Owens told him it indeed was a custom made gold jacket. What made it so extra special?

“T.O. told me he had his career stats on the back of the jacket,” the HOFer told me. “Seriously.”

It's unclear if he got the stats from RoobCSN like DeSean Jackson did. Either way, love a dude who goes out and makes his own replica jacket.

Personally, I would've avoided stats on the back and gotten a Wildwood-style airbrush job of T.O. as an Eagle standing on the star in Dallas. That's a fashion trend we can all get behind.
