On the Saturday afternoon fourball matches and previewing Sunday singles matches
Terry Gannon – “Nothing has been easy today. Every match has gone down to the wire.”
Judy Rankin – “I would front load tomorrow’s matchups, because I have watched too many times where people have prepared for this to go to the end and saved some really good players and they never mattered. I would want to try to win it and I want to try to win it early.”

On Brittany Altomare/Annie Park defeating Suzann Pettersen/Anne van Dam 1up
Judy Rankin – “I am very impressed with Suzann today. From when she started yesterday morning to the way she is playing and swinging now, she has come a million miles.”
Kay Cockerill – “Suzann is one of the toughest competitors to ever play this game. We have seen her do so many magnificent things over the years. Her attitude is contagious. She brings that intensity to every round she plays.”

Brittany Altomare and Annie Park speaking with GOLF Channel’s Kay Cockerill after their victory
Brittany Altomare – “It was back and forth the whole day. Both teams played some great golf in these conditions. We hit some really great shots. Both teams did.”
Altomare – “She [Juli Inkster] put two rookies together and we just got the job done today and are very happy. I’ve played with Annie for over a decade, so I was very happy to play with her. It’s been great.”
Annie Park – “It is always nice to see Suzann playing out here again. She has still got it. She has got so much swag. She is a trooper. It was tough out there but I’m glad that we got it done out there today.”

On Lexi Thompson/Marina Alex halving their match with Jodi Ewart Shadoff/Caroline Masson
Jerry Foltz – “Lexi just has that sense of the moment, no matter how the day has gone, to rise to the occasion and come through.”

Marina Alex and Lexi Thompson speaking with GOLF Channel’s Jerry Foltz following their match
Marina Alex – “It was like a tale of two nines for me for sure. I struggled to start and Lexi started off really good. She had unbelievable ball striking. Areas that she was struggling a little bit I was able to help her out. We played awesome together.”
Lexi Thompson – “You can never give up and you have to be there for your partner. In these conditions, pars are winning a few of those holes. So, we just had to stay in it. We knew it was going to be difficult. We just had to stay in it.”

On Georgia Hall/Celine Boutier defeating Ally McDonald/Angel Yin 2 up
Judy Rankin – “Celine has played remarkably well and has made some key putts. You always remember those putts that make differences in matches. If you have somebody who can be up to that more often than not, it’s a big weapon.”

Georgia Hall and Celine Boutier speaking with GOLF Channel’s Jim Gallagher Jr., following their victory
Georgia Hall – “I think we were 4-down after 5 which wasn’t looking very promising at all. We didn’t start to great but we were able to put it back into place and play some great golf. In the end we just stayed patient.”
Celine Boutier – “It is one of those situations where having a partner on a day like today definitely helps because we try to push each other and continue to believe. The conditions are so tough that we know anything can happen.”
Hall – “I think it is very important. All of the afternoon matches were very, very tight. It didn’t look like we were going to win, but we did so it shows that anything can happen tomorrow as well.”

On Lizette Salas/Danielle Kang defeating Carlota Ciganda/Azahara Munoz 2&1
Karen Stupples – “She [Danielle Kang] does love the big moments.”
Judy Rankin – “Juli has got the knack for the right words at the right time. That worked for Danielle today.”

On Danielle Kang and Lizette Salas speaking with GOLF Channel’s Karen Stupples following their victory
Lizette Salas – “I am at a loss for words. It was probably one of the toughest conditions I’ve ever played in. We hung in there for each other. We hung in there for our team and we hung in there for the people at home watching. It was an awesome day playing with your best friend and getting a point for Team USA, it feels pretty incredible.”
Danielle Kang – “We definitely joke out there but we’re definitely serious. We have each other’s back. The fact that I know that she has my back no matter what definitely helps make my game better.”
Salas – “It feels good to know that we can hit under these conditions and going into tomorrow knowing that anything can happen on Sunday. We have really good momentum going into tomorrow. We just have to play our games. Juli told me to play my boring golf and that worked for me today.”

Stacy Lewis speaking with Kay Cockerill during the afternoon fourball matches
Stacy Lewis – “It has been fun. It has been great to see the other side of things and kind of what goes on behind scenes with the pairings. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be a captain at one of these one of these days. It has been a great learning experience and learning from Juli has been awesome.”
Lewis – “Just figuring out style of play and who would play well together. I obviously have played with them more than any of the captains have so just trying to give them some advice there and helping the rookies around. It is just hard out here and everybody is battling.”

European captain Catriona Matthew speaking with GOLF Channel’s Kay Cockerill
Catriona Matthew – “It has been brutal out here this afternoon, but the play has been spectacular considering.”
Matthew – “Just to keep their chins up, not to get down about the weather and that it is hard out here. Pars can sometimes be a good score.”
Matthew (on if she would play golf in this weather) – “Not unless I have to.”
