NBCSN Presents NASCAR K&N Pro Series and Mecum Auctions from Seattle This Week
STAMFORD, Conn. – June 3, 2015 – NBC Sports Group will present more than 40 hours of motorsports coverage this weekend, highlighted by live coverage of the IndyCar Firestone 600 on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, as the Verizon IndyCar Series resumes on NBCSN for the final eight races of the 2015 season.
NBC continues its 2015 Formula One coverage this weekend with the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. NBC’s motorsports coverage begins Saturday at 2 p.m. ET with live coverage of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Tennessee National.
NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets – will provide streaming coverage of the IndyCar Firestone 600, F1 Canadian Grand Prix, and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Tennessee National.
INDYCAR FIRESTONE 600 – SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
Beginning this weekend, NBCSN will provide exclusive coverage of the final eight races of the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season, culminating with the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma on August 30 on NBCSN. Team Penske’s Juan Pablo Montoya (15), who won this year’s Indianapolis 500, currently holds a 21 point lead over teammate and 2014 IndyCar champion Will Power (294). Last weekend, Carlos Munoz (Andretti Autosport) and Sebastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing) took victories at the Detroit doubleheader.
Coverage of the Firestone 600 begins on Friday at 6 p.m. ET with qualifying, followed by live race coverage Saturday on NBCSN at 8 p.m. ET. Brian Till (play-by-play) will call the action from Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, alongside driving analysts Townsend Bell and Paul Tracy. Reporters Marty Snider, Kelly Stavast, Robin Miller and Kevin Lee will report from the pits.
FORMULA ONE CANADIAN GRAND PRIX – SUNDAY AT 2 P.M. ET ON NBC
NBC’s Formula One coverage continues with the Canadian Grand Prix live from Montreal. Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) earned his second consecutive win of the year with his third straight Monaco Grand Prix win, giving Mercedes wins in five of six events this year. Rosberg currently trails teammate Lewis Hamilton by 10 points in the driver standings.
Coverage begins Friday on NBC Sports Live Extra at 10 a.m. ET with Practice 1, followed by NBCSN’s coverage of Practice 2 at 2 p.m. ET. Live Extra will stream coverage of Practice 3 on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET, prior to NBCSN’s live coverage of qualifying at 1 p.m. ET. F1 Extra, NBC Sports Group’s pre-race show, will air Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, leading into live race coverage of the Canadian Grand Prix at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. NBCSN will also air an encore presentation Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET.
NBC Sports Group’s lead F1 broadcast team of Leigh Diffey (play-by-play), veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett, and F1 insider Will Buxton will call the action on-site from the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.
LUCAS OIL PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP TENNESSEE NATIONAL – SATURDAY AT 2 P.M. ET ON NBC
NBC and NBC Sports Live Extra will present six hours of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship coverage this weekend from the Tennessee National in Lakewood, Colo. in the fourth round of the 12-race championship series. Ryan Dungey took the win in the 450 Class last week at Thunder Valley, while Jeremy Martin claimed his second victory of the season in the 250 class.
Coverage begins on NBC Sports Live Extra with practice at 9:30 a.m. ET, followed by pre-race coverage on Live Extra at 11 a.m. ET. Coverage of Moto 1’s begins on MAVTV at noon ET, followed by Moto 2’s on NBC at 2 p.m. ET.
Veteran play-by-play voice Jason Weigandt, analyst and two-time AMA Pro Motocross Champion Grant Langston, and pit reporter Georgia Lindsay will call the action from Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tenn.
NBCSN PRESENTS NASCAR K&N PRO SERIES AND MECUM AUCTIONS FROM SEATTLE THIS WEEK
NBCSN continues its coverage of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series this Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m. ET with the NASCAR Hall of Fame 150 in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, followed by the Bill Schmitt Memorial 150 at 8 p.m. ET in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.
Ralph Sheheen, Frank Stoddard, Parker Kligerman and Kelli Stavast provide coverage of the NASCAR Hall of Fame 150 at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C., while Sheheen is joined by Kligerman and Heather DeBeaux for commentary of the Bill Schmitt Memorial 150 from Shasta Speedway in Anderson, Calif.
NBCSN will also present Mecum Auctions coverage from Seattle this weekend. Live action begins Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by an encore presentation at 11 p.m. ET. NBCSN’s coverage continues Sunday at 2 p.m. ET, followed by the final installment from Seattle at 11 p.m. ET.
NBC Sports Group’s Mecum Auctions telecast team of Scott Hoke, John Kraman, Stephen Cox, and reporter Bill Stephens will call the action.
