NFL Turning Point Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick

Stamford, Conn. – October 21, 2014 – Wednesday night’s edition of NFL Turning Point, NBCSN’s Emmy Award-nominated weekly NFL show co-produced by NFL Films, will feature in-depth analysis of Peyton Manning’s record-breaking performance on Sunday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers, in which Manning broke the NFL’s record for career touchdown passes.

Airing tomorrow night at 11 p.m. ET, NFL Turning Point will review Manning’s first two touchdowns, analyze the scoring drive that led to the historical moment, and showcase the celebration that followed. The show will also feature in-game audio from Manning, who was wired-for-sound during Sunday’s game.

In addition, this week’s installment of NFL Turning Point will study some of Week 7’s other compelling matchups. The episode reviews Saints – Lions, Browns – Jaguars and includes a spotlight feature on the play of San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers.

Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, the hour-long program will air throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.

This week’s episode features:

  • 49ers-Broncos: NFL Films reviews Peyton Manning’s historic performance, and highlights the key plays that allowed Denver to win the game against San Francisco.

  • Saints-Lions: Lions QB Matthew Stafford is wired-for-sound as NFL Turning Point breaks down Detroit’s game against New Orleans. NFL Films examines how Stafford was able to throw two touchdowns in the final four minutes of the game, leading the Lions to a fourth quarter comeback win over the Saints.

  • Browns-Jaguars: Jacksonville head coach Gus Bradley is wired-for-sound, as NFL Films captures the team’s first win of the season. NFL Turning Point studies how the Jaguars have struggled this season, and highlights the key plays that allowed Jacksonville to beat Cleveland on Sunday.

  • Philip Rivers: NFL Turning Point takes a look at the first seven weeks of play for San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers, and analyzes his season. The segment includes wired-for-sound highlights from Rivers during the Chargers game on Sunday against the Chiefs.

Each week Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point is built around select NFL matchups from the previous weekend, and focuses on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show also features anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, Game-of-the-Week style narratives that include the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.

In 2014 NBCSN will air a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLIX.
