NBC Sports Live Extra Continues Record-Setting Football Season
As previously announced, NBC Sports Live Extra’s presentation of Seahawks-Packers last Sunday delivered 20.8 million minutes, the most for an authenticated event in Live Extra’s history (excluding Olympics) and topping by more than 1 million minutes the prior record set in opening week (Giants-Cowboys). Through three games, the 2015 NFL season has delivered 74 million live minutes and 1.1 million unique users on NBC Sports Live Extra, up 40% and 11%, respectively, from 2014.
In addition, NBC Sports Live Extra’s digital coverage of Georgia Tech – Notre Dame also posted record traffic. In total, 4 million live minutes were streamed across all platforms, the most ever for an authenticated Notre Dame Football game on NBC Sports Live Extra. The presentation delivered 77,000 unique viewers.
American Formula One Driver Alexander Rossi to Guest Blog on NBCSports.com
Formula One driver Alexander Rossi (Team Marussia-Ferrari), the first American driver since Scott Speed in 2007, will debut a weekly guest blog for Motorsports Talk on NBCSports.com next week. After making his debut on Sunday during the 2015 Singapore Grand Prix, and heading into the 2015 Japanese Grand Prix, Rossi’s first post will reflect on his first two races in Formula One. Rossi’s posts will be published every Wednesday beginning Sept. 30, culminating on Dec. 2 with a season wrap-up.
GolfNow & Uber Form Partnership
A new marketing partnership between GolfNow and Uber will showcase how these digital companies are bringing golfers closer to their cities and the places they love to play. The multi-tiered partnership will begin tomorrow, Sept. 25, with a weekend promotion offering Uber riders located in 10 U.S. cities and Orange County, Calif., discounts on golf, surprise gifts and an opportunity to win free golf for a year.
As the world’s distribution leader of online tee-times, GolfNow will give all riders in the 11 designated markets a discount on their next round of golf, and automatically register them for a chance to win free golf for a year when using the Uber app from Friday, Sept. 25- Sunday, Sept. 27, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. local time. The cities include: Charlotte, N.C.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Los Angeles, Calif.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Orlando, Fla.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; San Diego, Calif.; Tampa, Fla.; Tucson, Ariz.; and the cities incorporating Orange County, Calif.
11 grandprizes of free golf for a year (one per market) will be awarded. Additionally, 11 riders in each city (excluding Los Angeles and Orange County) that use the GolfNow option in the Uber app on Saturday, Sept. 26, will win a prize pack valued at more than $200, and one lucky rider among those 11 also will receive a Srixon driver valued at $349.99.
