Live Coverage of IAAF World Track & Field Championships Continues This Week Across NBC Sports

STAMFORD, Conn. – October 2, 2019 – Reigning Olympic gymnastics all-around champion Simone Biles headlines NBC Sports’ coverage of the World Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, highlighting this week’s Olympic sports programming.

Five-time Olympic medalist Biles looks to win an unprecedented fifth all-around world title, while the American men are expected to be led by two-time Olympian and six-time U.S. all-around champion Sam Mikulak. Mikulak – who won his first individual world medal on high bar at the 2018 World Championships – and the U.S. men’s team will attempt to earn a team quota spot for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by finishing in the top nine (among nations that did not already earn a quota spot at 2018 World Championships) in qualifications.

TV coverage begins on Saturday, October 5, at 3 p.m. ET with women’s qualifications on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. On Monday, October 7, at 4 a.m. ET, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present live coverage of men’s qualification. Qualification rounds will also stream live throughout the week on NBCSports.com. Finals will begin Tuesday, starting with the women’s team final.

The FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Cup series continues this weekend with a stop in Valladolid, Spain on Sunday, October 6. 2019 Pan American Games silver medalists Jeffrey Gluckstein and Nicole Ahsinger are expected to lead the American contingent in Spain.

Television coverage begins on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA at 8 p.m. ET. OlympicChannel.com will provide live coverage on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. ET.


WOMEN’S WORLD RUGBY SEVENS SERIES – GLENDALE, COLORADO

COVERAGE BEGINS SATURDAY, OCT. 5 AT 8 P.M. ET ON OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA

The 2019-20 Women’s World Rugby Sevens series begins with the first of eight events taking place this weekend in Glendale, Colorado. Twelve teams will compete in this year’s Women’s World Rugby Sevens series, which lasts until May, and serves as an important buildup to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In last year’s tournament, the U.S. women placed second behind New Zealand.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents coverage of the Women’s World Rugby Sevens series beginning with pool play this Saturday, October 5 at 8 p.m. ET. Coverage continues on Sunday with the quarterfinals at 2:30 p.m. ET. Additionally on Sunday, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present live coverage of the semifinals at 4 p.m. ET and culminate with the finals live at 5:30 p.m. ET.
