MOTORSPORTS COVERAGE

NBC Sports Group continues its Formula One coverage this weekend with the Malaysian Grand Prix, beginning with qualifying at 4 a.m. ET Saturday on NBCSN. NBCSN’s live race presentation begins at 3:30 a.m. ET, followed by F1 Extra at 6 a.m. ET. NBCSN will air an encore presentation of the Malaysian Grand Prix at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.

Lead F1 announcer Leigh Diffey will call the Malaysian Grand Prix, and will be joined by veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, and analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett. F1 insider Will Buxton will serve as the team’s on-site reporter from the Sepang International Circuit in Sepang, Malaysia.

In addition to live comprehensive coverage of the Malaysian Grand Prix, NBCSN will present a new episode of F1 Countdown on tonight at 5 p.m. ET. Diffey, Hobbs, Matchett, and Buxton will break down last week’s race and provide in-depth analysis on this week’s Malaysian Grand Prix.

GOLF COVERAGE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend golf coverage features the PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open Friday at 3p.m. ET, and Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel; and Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC.

Golf Channel’s weekend coverage also includes the LPGA Tour’s Kia Classic at 6:30 p.m. ET Friday, and 7 p.m. ET Saturday and Sunday; and the European Tour’s Eurasia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM at Midnight ET Friday and Saturday.

NBC’s team of Dan Hicks (play-by-play), Johnny Miller (analyst) will join Golf Channel’s Peter Jacobsen (tower), Gary Koch (tower), Steve Sands (interviews), Scott Walker (essays) and Roger Maltbie, Mark Rolfing and Notah Begay on course to call the action for the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio, Texas. In addition, Steve Sands will handle play-by-play and Frank Nobilo will serve as an analyst for Golf Channel’s coverage.

Terry Gannon (play-by-play), Judy Rankin (analyst), and Tom Abbott (tower), Karen Stupples (on course), and Jerry Foltz (on course) will handle coverage of the Kia Classic from Carlesbad, Calif.

For the Eurasia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM, Golf Channel’s team of Steve Burkowski (studio host), Dougie Donnelly (play-by-play), Warren Humphreys (analyst), Dom Boulet (analyst), and Julian Tutt (on course) will host coverage from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

PREMIER LEAGUE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend Premier League coverage begins Saturday at 8 a.m. ET on NBCSN with Premier League Live immediately followed by Manchester United v. Aston Villa at 8:45 a.m. ET. Coverage continues at 10:30 a.m. ET with Premier League Live followed by Crystal Palace v. Chelsea at 11 a.m. ET on NBCSN. Premier League Extra Time will air Southampton v. Newcastle; Stoke City v. Hull City; Swansea City v. Norwich City; and West Bromwich Albion v. Cardiff City at 11 a.m. ET. NBCSN will also feature Arsenal v. Manchester City at 1:30 p.m. ET, immediately followed by Goal Zone at 3:30 p.m. ET. Saturday’s live coverage concludes with Match of the Day at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

On Sunday, NBCSN’s Premier League coverage begins at 8 a.m. ET with Premier League Live followed by Fulham v. Everton at 8:30 a.m. ET. Coverage continues with A Liverpool v. Tottenham Hotspur at 11 a.m. ET, Goal Zone at 2p.m. ET and NBCSN’s Match of the Day II at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Lead play-by-play announced Arlo White joins Graeme Le Saux to call Saturday’s Arsenal v. Manchester City match. White is joined by four-time league champion Lee Dixon for Sunday’s Liverpool v. Tottenham Hotspur match.

All matches will be preceded and followed by Premier League Live pre- and post-match shows from the NBC Sports Group International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Rebecca Lowe hosts Premier League Live alongside Kyle Martino and Robbie Earle.

MLS COVERAGE

NBCSN’s Major League Soccer coverage this weekend features D.C. United hosting Chicago Fire on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET, immediately following NBCSN’s Premier League coverage.

NBC Sports Group’s lead play-by-play announcer John Strong calls the match joined by and former Premier League footballer Robbie Mustoe and host Russ Thaler at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC.

HORSERACING COVERAGE

NBCSN presents coverage of the Florida Derby on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET from Gulfstream Park and the Louisiana Derby from Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.

NBCSN’s coverage features host Tom Hammond joined by Hall-of-Fame jockey Jerry Bailey, veteran horse racing analyst Randy Moss and contributing analyst/handicapper Bob Neumeier.

NBC’s Triple Crown race caller Larry Collmus, the track announcer at Gulfstream Park, will call this Saturday’s Florida Derby on NBCSN.

WORLD SERIES OF FIGHTING

NBCSN presents World Series of Fighting this Saturday, March 29, at 9 p.m. ET. The elite mixed martial arts (MMA) card is highlighted by a pair of title fights in the welterweight and bantamweight divisions.

Play-by-play announcer Todd Harris and mixed martial artist and analyst Bas Rutten will call the action from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.

HOCKEY COVERAGE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend hockey coverage begins Sunday when the Philadelphia Flyers take on the Boston Bruins for the NHL Game of the Week on at Noon ET on NBC.

Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, analyst Eddie Olczyk and Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire will have the call from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa.

Sunday’s NHL coverage continues on NBCSN at 7:30 p.m. ET with an NHL Stadium Series rematch, when the Pittsburgh Penguins host the Chicago Blackhawks. Dave Strader (play-by-play) and Brian Engblom will have the call from CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.
