Dani Alves has made over 300 appearances for Barcelona and won 16 trophies, including four La Liga titles and two Champions League triumphs.

With his contract at Barcelona up at the end of the season, Alves has yet to be offered an extension by the club. Despite not being able to make any outside signings until 2016 due a transfer ban, it seems Barcelona is content to let Alves leave.

Today, his agent has said the Brazilian defender is “in advanced talks” with another club regarding a summer move away from Camp Nou.

Speaking to Spanish radio station Rac1:

We are close to signing for another club. We are in advanced talks.

Dani is still available for Barcelona to keep hold of this summer, but he will not wait for them for much longer.

People are trying to make Dani look like the bad guy in this situation and that’s wrong. This situation is quite tiresome.”

Although the agent did not specify which team he was in talks with, many believe a move to the Premier League is in Alves’ future.

At 31-years-old, Alves still has a few years left in his legs. He has long been rumored for a move to Manchester United, dating back to October when some believed Alves would move to Old Trafford on a free transfer. Louis van Gaal is a fan of Alves, as the streaking full-back would fit nicely into the Dutchman’s system.

Only time will tell, but it would be safe to say Dani Alves will only leave Barcelona for a top-team contending for both domestic and European championships.
