As they did mid-week, Arsenal reminded us that they’re still a very good team, as Robbie Mustoe puts it in the clip, above. Cruising to a 3-1 win in the Craven Cottage downpour, the Gunners bounced back from their opening week loss at the Emirates, using Saturday’s London derby to prove their Aston Villa loss was just a one-off.

Against a Fulham team that showed little more life than the week before in Sunderland (where their only shot of the match led to a 1-0 victory), Arsenal look an early lead through Olivier Giroud, eventually staking themselves to a three-goal advantage before conceding late. Combined with their mid-week romp in Istanbul, the Gunners have righted what seemed to be a wayward ship, even if that righting it worth a caveat.

As Kyle Martino points out, it has been a long time since Arsenal where more than what they’re fans have grown tired of: A mere contender to make Champions League. While bossing a struggling Fulham is admirable in an absolute sense, in another, it’s the bare minimum for a club of Arsenal’s reputation, especially considering the lack of punch we’ve seen from the Cottagers thus far.

We’ll have a little more on the new, ever-changing state of Arsenal later today. For now, here’s Rebecca Lowe, Martino, and Mustoe talking about yesterday’s match at Craven Cottage.
