Arsenal said the club was “shocked to hear the dreadful news about the stabbing in Italy,” while Monza CEO Adriano Galliani released the following statement:
“Dear Pablo, we are all here close to you and your family, we love you, keep fighting as you know how to do, you are a warrior and you will get well soon.”
The BBC reports that the deceased is an employee of the super market and that a 46-year-old with “mental health problems” has been detained by police.
Mari has made nine appearances for Monza and scored a goal in an Oct. 9 win over Spezia.
