Speaking after Arsenal’s 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, which came courtesy of Danny Welbeck’s second half strike, Arsene Wenger was a relieved man.

Arsenal’s boss saw his side grind out a hugely important three points, as the north London club had come off two-straight defeats as injuries continue to pile up. Wenger got out his famous bench jacket (which actually doubles up as a sleeping bag for his camping trips...) for the match and despite a banner reading “Arsene, thanks for the memories but it’s time to say goodbye” being held up by Arsenal’s fans during the game, a top four finish is still very much on the horizon for the Gunners.

His team showed plenty of character to stay in touch with the top four despite their worst-ever start to a PL season through the 12 game mark. With Southampton at home on Wednesday and Stoke away next Saturday, the Gunners will now feel they have a great chance to kick on and make up for slow start.
