At the half: Record-signing Hernandez shining as Hull leads West Ham
Record-signing Abel Hernandez has scored on debut for Hull City, as the ex-Palermo striker’s header has the Tigers up 1-0 over West Ham United at halftime on NBCSN.
The visitors will feel unlucky to not have a lead at the KC Stadium, as Hull ‘keep Allan McGregor and some missed finishing opportunities have kept West Ham off the board.

There were some solid early combinations and runs, and the 13th minute saw French import Diafra Sakho blast the business end of a good build-up well high and wide of the Hull goal.
The Hammers had another good chance thanks to combination play ended on the other side of the 18, as Stewart Downing hit a hard left-footed shot wide of goal.
It was all West Ham for the middle portion of the half, as Steve Bruce’s Hull City couldn’t quite find their way against the Hammers.
Enner Valencia nearly found the net with a header in the 35th minute, but Allan McGregor somehow got his hand on the ball to push it wide for a corner.
But Uruguayan striker Hernandez out-muscled James Tompkins to meet an Ahmed Elmohamady cross, sending it past Adrian in the 39th minute.
And Hernandez blasted a shot off the underside of the crossbar in the 44th minute, only to watch Nikica Jelavic’s rebound goal overruled for offsides.
