Bobby Wood won’t stop scoring for Union Berlin as the Hawaiian-born striker grabbed his 14th goal of the season in a 3-1 win over BTSV on Friday.
Wood’s 14 tallies tie the record for most goals scored by a USMNT player in Germany’s top two flights. Conor Casey, now with the Columbus Crew, scored 14 goals for Karlsruher SC in the 2.Bundesliga during the 2003-04 season.

While Union Berlin sit mid-table in Germany’s second-tier, Wood is the league’s third-highest goalscorer this season.

Wood moved to Germany as a teenager in 2007 and made his professional debut in 2010. From 2010 until this season, he had only scored 18 league goals.

Now with this breakout campaign, Wood has climbed up the pecking order in the USMNT attack. With four goals in 14 appearances under Jurgen Klinsmann and currently in great form, the 23-year-old should be in line for a start in the team’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Guatemala.
