West Bromwich Albion fumbled away a 1-0 lead to Championship side Reading, and the worst was yet to come following the Baggies’ 3-1 loss at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday

Darren Fletcher’s opening goal was canceled out and then some as the Royals scored thrice in the final 36 minutes to move into the final eight of the FA Cup.

Following the game, Brunt headed to the away section to give a fan his shirt when he was hit in the eye with a coin.

He wasn’t pleased. From Sky Sports:

“I was walking towards our supporters at the end, and they thought it was okay to throw a coin at their own players. I’m disgusted.

“If they want to come forward and say they don’t like what they’ve seen then that’s fine. Fans are frustrated we were 1-0 up and lost.

“They paid a lot of money to come, but a small minority spoilt it. There were young kids there. I was absolutely disgusted and ashamed.”

Terrible stuff from the worst subset of soccer fans. We’re grateful that toss wasn’t an inch higher.
