A day after four sides booked their places in the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League round of 16, another of Europe’s elites joined them.

Legia Warsaw 3-3 Real Madrid
Real Madrid were 1-0 up after 57 seconds, courtesy of the fastest Champions League goal in club history, a seeing-eye screamer off the left foot of Gareth Bale (below video), and 2-0 up after 35 minutes, thanks to Karim Benzema. Then, it all came undone, as Legia Warsaw scored three straight to go 3-2 up after 83 minutes. Los Blancos’ deficit was short-lived, though, as Mateo Kovacic grabbed an equalizer just two minutes later to rescue a point and inch Zinedine Zidane’s side that much closer to securing passage into the knockout rounds.

Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Sporting CP
Christian Pulisic started, played 90 minutes, began the brilliant move for the game’s only goal, and smashed the crossbar with a shot of his own in the other Group F fixture on Wednesday. The blossoming U.S. national team star logged his fourth 90-minute shift in five games for Dortmund (all competitions). Adrian Ramos scored the goal after just 12 minues, moments after Pulisic made a perfectly timed run in behind the Sporting defense before setting off a sequence of quick passing in and around the penalty area, which culminated in the Colombian’s third goal of the season. The victory sends Dortmund top of Group F on 10 points, and clinches their place in the round of 16.
