Pulisic nominated for prestigious award

U.S. national team star Christian Pulisic continues to be in contention for some of the biggest awards on the planet.

Pulisic, 20, has been nominated for the new Kopa Trophy award from outlet France Football, which will be handed to the best player on the planet under the age of 21.

The Hershey, Pennsylvania native is among 10 finalists for the award, with the nominees selected by the former winners of the main Ballon d’Or trophy.

Kylian Mbappe is the red-hot favorite for the trophy (and also a leading contender for the main Ballon d’Or award), while Pulisic stands a chance of coming next in line after his fine displays for Borussia Dortmund to start the 2018-19 season before being hit by injury.

Pulisic is also among the nominees for the Golden Boy award, as the greatest talent of the past decade to come from the U.S. excels in Europe with Dortmund.
