As David Beckham and his ownership group continue with their plans to bring a Major League Soccer team to Miami, Beckham has already started eyeing some potential players.

One signing that he wants to make “right away” is Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The two were teammates at Paris Saint-Germain and rumors have been swirling that Zlatan could make a big-money move to MLS later in his career.

Speaking to a Swedish newspaper, Beckham said that he is hoping Zlatan is still playing when the Miami franchise gets up and running.

We have received permission to build an arena and it will take three years... maybe two, at best.

If Ibrahimovic is still active, then I want to buy him right away. He is a physically magnificent specimen, so it’s entirely possible.

Beckham would go on to call himself one of Zlatan’s “biggest admirers,” as it looks like he will put on a heavy push to sign the striker.

Despite being 34-years-old, Zlatan is in the top form of his career and still one of the world’s elite strikers. With his contract at PSG expiring this summer, he will be one of the top targets for all the major clubs to sign.

If the stadium plans go through in Miami and the franchise does begin play in three years as Beckham hopes, Zlatan would be nearing 40. He has currently shown no signs of slowing down, but only time will tell.

Very rarely does a player compete at an elite level in a top European league at 37 or 38-years-old, and with his ties to Beckham and the chance of a big pay day to live in Miami, Zlatan to MLS could be a real possibility.
