No surprise here, but Didier Drogba isn’t coming back to Montreal.
The legendary Chelsea striker, 38, has 21 goals and 7 assists in 33 games for the Impact, adding another goal in five playoff appearances.
But he’s dropped down the pecking order under coach Mauro Biello who has guided the Impact to within 90 minutes of the MLS Cup after Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Toronto FC in the first leg of the Eastern Conference final.

Drogba admitted the home game was his last in Quebec, after coming off the bench for 19 minutes and two shot attempts.
From the BBC:“There’s still one or maybe two games to go. Next week’s game is more important than if it’s finished or not.
“Everyone knows it was my last game here. Now let’s focus on the semi-final.”
No doubt it was a successful move for both Drogba and the Impact. Now will his tenure end with a title?
Drogba’s departure is another big name international to leave his MLS side this offseason, joining Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, and Andoni Iraola.
