EURO 2016 Today: Hosts France back in action

The hosts are back in action as Group A takes center stage on Wednesday.

France host Albania in Marseille, while Romania and Switzerland go at it in Paris as the second round of group games gets underway. Russia and Slovakia also clash in a pivotal Group B encounter.

EURO 2016, Game 13: Russia vs. Slovakia

When: Wednesday, 9 a.m. ET

Where: Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Lille

The build up to this game has been marred by investigations from UEFA against Russian fans who have been blamed for the days of violence in Marseille ahead of their Group B opener against England. On the pitch Russia was outplayed but snatched a late 1-1 draw, while Slovakia lost 2-1 to Wales in their opener. Both teams will see this encounter as a must-win if they want to advance to the Round of 16.


EURO 2016, Game 14: Romania vs. Switzerland

When: Wednesday, 12 p.m. ET

Where: Parc des Princes, Paris

The Swiss will fancy their chances of taking a huge step towards the Round of 16 as they look to follow up their Group A opening day win over Albania with a victory against plucky Romania. The Romanians looked to have snatched a draw against France in their opener but Dimitri Payet’s magic pinned them back. Should be a tight, tense encounter between the two favorites to join the France in the knockout stages.

When: Wednesday, 3 p.m. ET

Where: Stade Velodrome, Marseille

Time for the hosts to take center stage once again. After their opening win against Romania thanks to Payet’s late goal, Didier Deschamps could be set to ring the changes and there’s talk of him dropping both Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba. As for Albania, they must get something from this game to give themselves a good chance of making the Round of 16.
