Ramiro Funes Mori’s second-half header was met soon after by Sadio Mane’s equalizer as Everton and Southampton drew 1-1 at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Everton sits 11th with 41 points, while Saints are in 7th with 51.

Shane Long remains lively for Saints, and both he and Dusan Tadic had solid chances that came to nothing.

Perhaps the most notable moment of the half is when Jose Fonte got away with what could’ve been a red card takedown of a streaking Kevin Mirallas.

Saints probably deserved to be on top by halftime, and Virgin van Dijk nearly did the trick from inside the 18. The stalwart defender, however, smashed over the bar.

The pressure continued after the break, with Tadic blasting a shot off the crossbar.

It was the Toffees who would go in front, though, as Ramiro Funes Mori had a pair of bites at the proverbial apple off a corner kick. His second header was good, and Everton was ahead with 32 minutes to play.

Saints equalized just eight minutes later through Mane, and perhaps it was fitting that it came as Tadic just missed scoring himself. Mane was on the spot to score from six yards out after Tadic’s redirected ball fell into his path.
