Two Premier League giants fell in League Cup Round of 16 action on Tuesday, thus putting the three PL big boys — Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool — vying Wednesday for a spot in the quarterfinals on high alert.

The current PL leaders, Man City, will welcome Crystal Palace to the Etihad Stadium in one of three remaining all-PL ties. When City visited Palace back on Sept. 12, Manuel Pellegrini’s side snatched all three points through a 90th-minute winner scored by 19-year-old striker Kelechi Iheanacho. Liverpool will welcome Bournemouth to Anfield, where Jurgen Klopp is still in search of his first victory as manager of the Reds. When the two sides met at Anfield on Aug. 17, only Christian Benteke’s offside goal separated the sides in a 1-0 Liverpool victory.

Elsewhere, Southampton and Aston Villa will face off at St Mary’s Stadium, and Manchester United will aim to avoid a similar fate to that of Arsenal and Leicester City — PL sides falling to Championship sides — when they host Middlesbrough at Old Trafford.
