Gleeson, Robles come up big as Red Bulls draw Timbers (video)

Sunday’s scoreless draw between Portland and New York in New Jersey didn’t exactly set a high standard for soccer, but we did get a pair of fine saves at Red Bull Arena.

The first comes from a man we’ve seen make a ton of wonderful saves over his five seasons in Major League Soccer: Luis Robles.

The Arizona-born backstop made this terrific right-handed punch of Lucas Melano shot.

But was he upstaged by the 26-year-old Kiwi across from him?

Jake Gleeson came out, got big, and robbed Felipe of a probably deserved winner.
