Hart and Sterling confirmed out for England; Burnley’s Heaton called up

Fulham v Burnley - Sky Bet Championship

Tom Heaton has joined Jack Butland and Fraser Forster in England camp for high-profile friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands.

That’s because the injury Joe Hart suffered in Sunday’s Manchester Derby has knocked the No. 1 ‘keeper out of camp, and opened a door for young standouts Butland and Forster.

It’s also a great chance for Heaton, who starred in Burnley’s relegation campaign last year and this year’s increasingly likely “re-promotion”. The Clarets lead the Championship on points.

Manuel Pellegrini hinted that Hart and Raheem Sterling, who has also missed England camp with a Sunday knock, could miss 3-4 weeks.
