USMNT center back Matt Miazga became the first American to suit up for Chelsea in a Premier League game on Saturday, going 90 minutes in the Blues’ 4-0 road win.

And while it’s nice to make quips about Chelsea being unbeaten and averaging four goals-per-game with a Yank in the lineup, we’d rather hear how Blues boss Guus Hiddink thinks he did.

“He had a proper game. At a young age, he played with experience and was guided by the guys with experience.”

Guus: ‘It’s not that important for me [to be unbeaten], and with bringing young kids the risk of failure is a little higher.’ #CFC

Miazga did well enough on a youth-heavy Chelsea side, and it will be interesting to see whether Hiddink continues to get the youngster experience in a season-ending run with little on the line.
