How might the USMNT line up Friday against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines?

The United States men’s national team has a pair of World Cup qualifiers left in the fourth round, and can advance to the Hex with an expected win over Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday and a Trinidad and Tobago win over Guatemala.

And while no one is expecting Friday’s contest to be much of a, well, contest, Jurgen Klinsmann is faced with some interesting decisions. Clint Dempsey is out indefinitely and fellow Copa America stalwarts Jermaine Jones and John Anthony Brooks are also out. Captain Michael Bradley is suspended.

Klinsmann told us five starters for Friday’s match at SVG, and Tuesday’s group finale against T&T in Jacksonville. We know Middlesbrough’s Brad Guzan is between the sticks on Friday, and Colorado’s Tim Howard moves into the fray on Tuesday. Also starting Friday are Geoff Cameron, Kyle Beckerman, and Jozy Altidore.

So how might they look? Expect two forwards, four midfielders, and two full backs with freedom to punish SVG on the flanks.

Something like this:

Yedlin -- Cameron -- Besler -- Johnson

Zusi -- Nagbe -- Bedoya

Altidore -- Wood

We could also see Christian Pulisic rewarded with a start in more of a 4-3-3 that uses Bobby Wood on the outside, but we don’t know how that would work with Altidore back in the mix. When Clint Dempsey was playing in the center, Wood would naturally switch spots with Dempsey as both played a hold-up role (in a sense).

So, also, something like this:

Yedlin -- Cameron -- Besler -- Johnson

Kljestan -- Bedoya

Pulisic -- Altidore -- Wood

Either way, expect a comfortable win from the Yanks and then hope for a T&T defeat of Guatemala so we could see something exploratory on Tuesday... something like this:

Yedlin -- Birnbaum -- Besler -- Acosta

Nagbe -- Kljestan

Pulisic -- Wood -- Morris
