Jonjo Shelvey and Ki Sung-yueng made sure Hull remains in the drop zone, as a dull match’s only goal came off an early deflection at the KC Stadium.

Shelvey’s hard shot hit Ki in the 15th minute to send Swansea within four points of No. 5 Southampton, while Steve Bruce’s Tigers have just 13 points.

That keeps Hull three points from safety.

Swansea struck first in the sort of fashion Hull fans are expecting this season, as Shelvey’s shot took a right turn off of Ki and boundd past McGregor to make it 1-0.

Other than that, the first 45 minutes were far from remarkable. The teams put just two shots total on target, and 12 fouls were called.
