Kevin-Prince Boateng suffers mild injuries after attack
Ghana national teamer star Kevin-Prince Boateng was attacked on Christmas Day in Kaarst, Germany.
The Schalke 04 midfielder was evaluated at a local hospital for mild injuries to his neck, back and ribs. He was reportedly struck by an unknown assailant and fell onto a vase after visiting his ex-wife and young son.The police report listed these details:
“On Wednesday, 25.12.2013, at around 12:45, an incident of physical assault took place in Kaarst. A 26-year-old man, a resident of Meerbusch, was physically attacked on the street by a currently unidentified man.
“There are indications that the motive for the crime is connected to the personal affairs of the 26-year-old. The man was mildly injured. Criminal investigators have begun their work.”
The police are searching for any clues and witnesses in the incident, which took place in broad daylight. The Bundesliga is on winter break and Boateng does not have a match for Schalke until Jan. 26.
The former Portsmouth and AC Milan player scored the first goal against the United States in Ghana’s 2-1 win at the 2010 World Cup’s knockout round. Boateng has also been a United Nations ambassador for anti-racism and done work in the area for FIFA as well.
