Saturday’s dominating performance from Chelsea put the rest of the Premier League on watch as Antonio Conte’s side completely overwhelmed Everton in a 5-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge.

While the Toffees’ recent hiccup in form has been noted, the Blues have continually improved since Conte’s change to the 3-4-3 following a loss to Arsenal.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman recognized the brilliance that Chelsea has displayed as of late following the match and stated that the Toffees should take some important lessons away from the loss.
“Chelsea showed us today very high level of football in every aspect of football,” Koeman said. “How they work, how they run, how they press – we can learn from them. It’s a big lesson what happened today.
“I never saw a team playing so well this system. This system is very difficult to play against, the movement of the players, Hazard.”
As the Dutchman briefly touches on, attacker Eden Hazard played a key role for the Blues once again on Saturday, scoring twice for Conte’s side. Hazard has clearly overcome the demons that haunted him a season ago, already surpassing his goal total from 2015/16 and more importantly influencing the play of the rest of the Chelsea attack.

For Everton, Saturday’s performance was certainly troubling for several reasons. While Romelu Lukaku and the attack never really had any opportunities to test Thibaut Courtois because of Chelsea’s relentless possession and flow in the attacking half, the Toffees backline raised more concerns for their lack of dealing with Hazard and co.
