Malaga 1-1 Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s title hopes took a big blow on Sunday as Zidane’s men drew 1-1 at Malaga. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark and had a chance to double Real’s lead minutes later, but saw his penalty kick saved by Carlos Kameni. Malaga would equalize in the 66th minute and held on for the draw, as Real now sit nine points behind Barcelona with 13 matches to play.

Atletico Madrid 0-0 Villarreal
Another team chasing Barcelona also faltered over the weekend as Atletico Madrid was held to a scoreless draw against Villarreal. Atleti remain in second place in La Liga, but fall eight points off the pace of leaders Barca. Villarreal sit fourth and have now kept five consecutive clean sheets in all competitions.
Rayo 2-2 Sevilla
Sevilla remains without an away win in La Liga play this season, as Unai Emery’s men drew 2-2 at Rayo. Sevilla went two goals up in the opening 20 minutes through Steven N’Zonzi and Vicente Iborra, but Rayo pulled one back just before the break and leveled in the second half. In 12 away matches this season, Sevilla have zero wins, eight draws, and four losses.

Athletic Bilbao 0-1 Real Sociedad
Roma 5-0 Palermo
Despite playing without their captain Francesco Totti, Roma cruised to an easy win over Palermo. Mohamed Salah and Edin Dzeko each bagged a brace with Seydou Keita capping off the scoring for the fourth-place club. In other good news for Roma, Kevin Strootman came off the bench in his first appearance for more than a year after multiple knee surgeries.
Atalanta 2-3 Fiorentina
Fiorentina extend their unbeaten run in Serie A to six matches with a 3-2 win over Atalanta. La Viola held a late 1-0 lead until the match erupted with four goals in the final ten minutes. Each side scored twice with Nikola Kalinic finding the winner for Fiorentina, who remain third on the table and still in the title hunt.
