Real Madrid 1-1 Villarreal
Real Madrid saw their lead at the top of the table cut to two points after settling for a 1-1 draw with Villarreal. Cristiano Ronaldo put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot, but Gerard Moreno leveled with a low-driven shot past Iker Casillas and into the bottom corner. It is the first time Real has dropped points at home in the league since early September, and Villarreal’s first points at the Bernabeu since 2006.
Sevilla 0-0 Atletico Madrid
A fiery match that saw 11 yellow cards ended in a stalemate between two of the top five teams in La Liga. Atletico was looking to keep the gap behind Barcelona at three, but failed to find the back of the net as Sevilla enjoyed 65-percent of possession. Fernando Torres came off the bench and nearly stole three points for Atleti, but remains scoreless in the league since his return to Spain.

Valencia 2-0 Real Sociedad
A brace from Pablo Piatti means David Moyes is still searching for his first win away from home in La Liga. Inter Milan 0-1 Fiorentina
On-loan Chelsea winger Mohamad Salah continued his stellar run at Fiorentina, scoring the game winner against Inter Milan today. Salah slotted home a rebound after keeper Samir Handanovic bobbled a cross as Inter failed to take any points at home. Since moving to Italy from Chelsea, Salah has scored three times in his first four matches for Fiorentina.
Torino 1-0 Napoli
Napoli could have moved level with Roma for the second spot in Serie A if it had not been for a Kamil Glik header in the second half. The Turkish center back and Torino skipper headed home in the 68th minute to send Napoli back with no points. It’s a tough loss for Rafa Benitez’s side as they remain three points behind Roma, who still has a game in hand.
Genoa vs. Parma: POSTPONED
Parma postponed its second match in a row amidst the ongoing financial crisis at the club. The team has already been sold twice this season, with reports that the club is over $200 million in debt and can’t afford hot water for the team’s showers. Players are now refusing to play, as some haven’t been paid in months and claim Italian football authorities are not doing enough to help the situation.
