Leicester on title chance strengthening win: “It was ugly but the points that matter”

Leicester City, as needed in any title run, got away with one on Monday.

Shinji Okazaki scored a bicycle kick, crafty Wes Morgan blocked a shot in the 18 with his elbow and Leicester absorbed relentless second-half pressure from Newcastle to pull out a 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium.

Newcastle stormed out of the gates and only allowed one shot on target to the Foxes, who made it count.

And Leicester, now leading the table by five points, know it should’ve been better at home.

Here’s Danny Drinkwater, from the BBC:
“We got the goal and sat back a bit, it was ugly on our side but the points that matter. Shinji Okazaki works his socks off and he deserved that goal, a special moment for us. Kante is a great player, anyone in our squad would agree, he’s quality.”
