Joe Allen and Roberto Firmino led Liverpool to a relatively simple 2-0 win over Watford at Anfield on Sunday.

The win boosts Liverpool to 58 points. With a match-in-hand, the Reds can finish as high as fifth and no lower than their current 8th place spot.

Watford stays 13th with 44 points.

There were half chances for both sides, but Liverpool went in front when Philippe Coutinho played a ball to Christian Benteke. The big Belgian headed the ball into Allen’s path, and the Welshman slid the ball home.

And first half stats don’t lie, with Liverpool making 200 more passes and holding 70 percent of the ball. Watford was set up to counter, but didn’t manage much danger aside from a few won corners.

Firmino made it all but academic with about 14 minutes to play when he dribbled hard at the Watford back line before letting loose a dagger that beat Heurelho Gomes.
