CtTK3fBHb_7u
Liverpool took on Stoke at Anfield, with things starting well on the home side and evidently ending with a win for them too. Liverpool's Divock Origi also had an impressive game, making two of the four goals.

  • Reds go up 2-1 at break
  • Origi grabs brace
  • Liverpool leapfrogs Stoke

Divock Origi scored a quickfire brace, the second a marvelous shot, as Liverpool battered visiting Stoke City 4-1 on Sunday at Anfield on NBCSN.

Alberto Moreno and Daniel Sturridge also scored for Liverpool, which rises past Stoke with 48 points. The 7th place Reds have played two less matches than the Potters as well.

Bojan Krkic scored the lone Stoke goal. USMNT veteran Geoff Cameron went 90 minutes at defensive mid for the Potters.

Liverpool had made it 1-0 off a funny little free kick. While Stoke was complaining, Moreno drifted into a wide open position and unleashed a dipping effort that caught Haugaard off guard.

Bojan equalized on a free kick, and both he and Geoff Cameron looked in position to redirect Xherdan Shaqiri’s free kick past Simon Mignolet. 1-1 after 22 minutes.

Peter Crouch had a 27th minute goal pulled back for offside, and Liverpool went ahead for the second time. In the 32nd minute, it was Sturridge heading Sheyi Ojo’s cross past Haugaard to make it 2-1.

Jurgen Klopp’s men picked up where they left off after the break, and James Milner’s cross off a short corner found Origi with plenty of room to head home.

His second goal was simply stunning. Origi dribbled Phil Bardsley backwards from the left flank and then curled a beauty past Haugaard. Think Harry Kane versus Arsenal. Wonderful stuff.

2 - Divock Origi has scored his first ever Premier League brace. Flourish.
