During the first half of the Premier League clash at Turf Moor, Gomez stayed down after a sliding challenge with Ben Mee on the touchline.

The England international, who was playing at right back, was stretchered off the pitch and replaced with Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff looked concerned on the sidelines and it looked as though Gomez’s ankle was the main issue.

It has since been confirmed that Gomez injured his left ankle and he will have a scan in the next 24 hours to find out the severity of the problem.

Given Gomez’s incredible form for club and country at center back in recent weeks, Liverpool will wait with bated breath to see how long the Londoner will be our for.
