Monday night at the Hawthorns was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for Roberto Martinez, as he watched his Everton side go 2-0 down to West Bromwich Albion, only to storm back with three goals in the final 35 minutes to win 3-2.

Speaking during his post-game television interview (above video), the 42-year-old Spaniard was equally quick to laud his side’s slow start as he was to praise their inspired comeback.

Monday’s come-from-behind victory was the kind of game that last year’s Everton would have finished out by simply going through the motions. There’s a different air about them this year, one that resembles the 2013-14 season when they finished fifth. It’s also a massive boost that Romelu Lukaku is playing like a man on fire again, just as his did during that same on-loan season.
