The game in 100 words (or less): Sporting KC started a side of mostly reserve players, while Seattle went with their starters at Sporting Park today. The Sounders got out to a first half lead through Obafemi Martins, and looked the better side throughout the opening stages of the match. However, Seattle failed to take advantage of some big opportunities, allowing Kansas City to stay close. Then, Dom Dwyer came in off the bench and immediately scored for Sporting to earn a share of the points, as the Sounders will look back on this as a disappointing result.

Three moments that mattered

32' -- Obafemi Martins scores for Seattle -- Martins continues to find the back of the net for the Sounders, as the potent striker capitalized off a counter. A turnover around midfield sprung Seattle on the attack, as Martins simply outran the Sporting defense and broke through on goal.

52' -- Kempin comes up huge for Sporting -- Seattle nearly took a two-goal lead early in the second half, but Jon Kempin made a massive save to keep things close. Nelson Valdez played a low cross to Clint Dempsey, whose deflection was kicked wide by a great stop from Kempin.

79' -- Dom Dwyer equalizes for SKC -- Dom Dwyer came in off the bench in the 74th minute, and gave Sporting KC a share of the points within five minutes. A sliding Dwyer got a touch on a cross from Amadou Dia, punishing Seattle for missed chances.
