MLS Team of the Week — Stars of Week 17

Week 17 of the 2015 MLS season, which also happened to be “Rivalry Week,” is in the books, and there’s no two ways around it — it was an absolutely amazing weekend and advertisement. 28 goals in nine games from Friday to Sunday, on top of another 17 goals in seven games mid-week.

Sunday’s affairs — the New York vs. New York and Seattle vs. Portland rivalries — really delivered the goods in the form of nine goals between the two games. For their efforts — and resounding derby day victories — the New York Red Bulls and Portland Timbers each land a pair of players in this week’s MLS Team of the Week.

Elsewhere, we’ve got a pair of California Clasico winners — the San Jose Earthquakes — in this week’s team, as well as another duo in the black and gold of Columbus Crew SC.

Thoughts? Questions? Agreements? Disagreements? (Of course not.) Leave them in the comments section, as always. I’m not afraid to defend my picks.
