Pep Guardiola on final year of contract: “Not completely convinced” he’s right for Bayern
Bayern Munich has run away with the Bundesliga in each of the past two seasons to the tune of a combined plus-133 in goal differential and 29 points in table advantage over runners-up Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg.
But Pep Guardiola has faced some criticism for those two years, seasons in which his club has been bounced in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League.

Entering the final year of his contract, the 44-year-old two-time UCL champion with Barcelona isn’t ready to commit his future to Bayern. He knows the club isn’t happy about this, and says he isn’t getting offers from elsewhere. He’s just not sure it’s the right fit. From the Associated Press:
The Spanish coach acknowledged Bayern officials may “not be happy” with his decision-making delay but stressed he was “thankful to be here.”
“I have done my best, I am doing my best, and I will do my best,” Guardiola said. “But three years are a long time. I am not completely convinced that I am the right person for this club.”
Guardiola can erase a minor Bayern demon with his first Super Cup win on Saturday versus Wolfsburg. Will we see Guardiola flee for a Premier League location after this season, or even a national team? There are certainly worse places to be than Bayern Munich.
