The Premier League and its medical experts met with the team captains of England’s top flight on Wednesday.

The discussions determined that players around the league would be given 24 hours to approach their captain if they have concerns about returning to training next week, should it be approved by the government.

Some players are concerned about returning to work and the multiple tests they’ll face in order to take the field.

Rigorous and cautious training protocols have been sent to managers and players to discuss and the initial plan is for Premier League clubs to return to small-group training on May 18, ahead of a possible resumption of games from June 12.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said all clubs want to play in their home stadiums and the government and police chiefs have eased their stance on only playing games at neutral stadiums.
