The Blues are losers of four of five, and under pressure to, well, look anything like the Chelsea that won the Premier League title last season.
What they’re saying
Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho is optimistic: “I think tomorrow we are going to play very well. With all the respect I have for unpredictability in football, and all the respect I have for our opponents, I think we will play well and get a good result. The players are enthusiastic and confident. ... I don’t think we are going to start the game under any kind of pressure, we just want to play.”
Norwich’s Gary O’Neil on facing the struggling Blues: “Nobody expected Chelsea to be where they are at the moment, but I’m sure with the players and manager they have it won’t last. We’re looking to make sure it’s at least one more week before things change. ... We need to make it tough for Chelsea while getting players into attacking positions. The points are important to us, so we certainly won’t be rolling over.”
As it stands, this is a relegation six-pointer. It seems likely this is the weekend that Chelsea starts to move forward. The Blues play Norwich, Spurs, Bournemouth, Leicester, Sunderland, Watford. They’ll want 16 of 18 points, and get three here. Blues 3-0.
