Kevin De Bruyne looks set for his Premier League return after all, and the destination will be Manchester City.

So says The Times’ Chief Football Correspondant Oliver Kay. It seems both the interjection of Manchester United to the “Bayern will take him after the season” will bear no fruit for the mentioned super powers.

Instead, it’ll be City putting De Bruyne on their wing, feeding Sergio Aguero and company.

De Bruyne broke through in a big way with Wolfsburg last season, even before Andre Schurrle hit the scene. Of his 16 goals, 10 were in the Bundesliga and five in Europe (with the remainder coming in Cup play).

#MCFC and Wolfsburg still haggling, but deal for Kevin De Bruyne is very nearly complete. Expect final fee to be less than the reported £59m

Less than $90 million? What a bargain! Joking aside, it’s a win for City. And De Bruyne was awesome as Scut Farkus in “The Christmas Story”.
