Europe has Michel Platini’s back.

In a move that is a bit surprising, respected AP writer Rob Harris is reporting that the embattled FIFA exec and head of UEFA is receiving support from every member of European soccer’s confederation.

It’s quite remarkable, and will bear much more consideration of the following opinions:

  1. Whether this is a blanket show of belief that Platini is not guilty of allegations of accepting bribe money from Sepp Blatter and others in regards to the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosting bids.
  2. Whether it’s a sign of status quo from all of UEFA.

The latter would be quite shocking, as many European FAs have spoken up about the need for drastic change the embarrassment caused by Sepp Blatter, Jerome Valcke, Jack Warner and others.
